Overview

SOSi is seeking a creative Brand Director to develop the brand strategy, brand positioning, and brand image / visual identity of SOSi and its fully-owned subsidiary, Exovera, ensuring the SOSi and Exovera brands are differentiated and stand out to government agencies and the government contracting industry. The Director will also play a crucial role in building and nurturing the SOSi and Exovera employer brands, helping to attract top talent to the companies.

This position reports to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications.

Essential Job Duties

  • Brand platform and storytelling: develop brand messaging platforms that communicate corporate narratives and support key audience, business unit, and recruiting personas and needs. Analyze market and industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to identify opportunities for brand differentiation, creative innovation, and industry excellence. Define corporate style and tone of voice, and use these platforms to develop compelling content, thought leadership, and storytelling that drives brand awareness and relevance.

  • Brand guidelines: work with in-house and freelance/agency creative and graphic design teams to align visual identity with brand platform. Ensure internal and external understanding and application of consistent branding by setting guidelines, developing and sharing templates, and offering training and other support when needed.

  • Brand campaigns: develop always on brand campaigns (paid and organic) targeting key audiences to raise the visibility and awareness of the SOSi and Exovera brands. Collaborate with and manage the work of creative teams to conceptualize and implement innovative campaigns that effectively communicate our brand message. Track, analyze, and report on key results, making adjustments as needed to maximize ROI.

  • Employer brand: in partnership with HR and talent acquisition teams, create message platform aligned to recruiting and building a brand of an employer of choice. Own and manage third-party job posting boards (e.g., Glassdoor, Indeed) to ensure they reflect brand assets and are regularly updated with new content.

  • Internal brand advocate: champion brand standards, the brand strategy, and the SOSi and Exovera stories; provide regular training to internal teams on brand standards and our corporate brand narratives. Manage an internal resource center where employees can easily access up-to-date logos, templates, and other assets.

  • Swag: serve as the point of contact for all company swag orders, ensuring alignment with brand. Work closely with site leaders and business units to ensure distributed workforce has the materials they need. Manage the vendor, negotiate competitive rates, and track all spending.

Minimum Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant brand and marketing experience with a proven track record creating innovative and targeted brand programs that generate measurable results.

  • Proven ability to take a customer-first approach to building brand and messaging.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to take industry jargon and translate into benefits-focused and mission-driven language.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and influence effectively with individuals at all levels, including the executive suite.

  • Excellent demonstrated organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited U.S. college or university.

Work Environment

  • Normal office work environment.

  • Occasional travel.

  • Long and demanding hours (including nights and weekends) during surges.
