SOS International LLC Senior Systems Engineer in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Overview

SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is currently seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Honlolulu, Hawaii . Our Team is based out of Honolulu, Hawaii and creates, manages, and supports IT solutions and infrastructure for USINDOPACOM services. Our designs are secure, reliable, and resilient and support the USINDOPACOM mission and its 5000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems with architecturally unique solutions that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical C2 strategies.

Essential Job Duties

This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position that demands high standards. As a senior member of this team, you will Engineer Command and Control IT solutions in support of USINDOPACOM, related component commands, mission partners and relevant operational objectives. You will develop systems to ensure that every segment of our enterprise infrastructure and private cloud platform, is healthy and manageable, and robust enough to connect hundreds of cutting-edge embedded systems theater-wide.

The selected candidate for this position should be well-versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures, and regulations, to include Government Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) mandates. The candidate should have foundational knowledge of Data Centric Security Principals, technologies and their implementations. The position is expected to regularly interact with senior DoD personnel, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to prepare and deliver executive-level briefings/IPRs to interested parties as required.

  • Assess, design, and roadmap development for the implementation or integration of ZTA solutions.

  • Assess, design, and roadmap development for the implementation or integration of Data Centric Security solutions.

  • Contribute, provide technical recommendations, and attend briefings or information sharing forums, with INDOPACOM and the leadership, in support of ZTA initiatives and new capabilities.

  • Interact with vendors, other agencies, and Coalition Partners on behalf of the program.

  • Lead complex technical projects including upgrades, system integrations, and other installations in support of existing Enterprise capabilities.

  • Provide mentorship for Systems Operations personnel in administration principles and best practices

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned

  • Interface with team leads and team members to collect, develop, document, and submit status updates via a Weekly Activity Report (WAR).

Minimum Requirements

  • Active in-scope Top Secret DoD security clearance with SCI Eligibility and US Passport

  • Baseline understanding and ability to further interpret Executive Order 14028, OMB Mandate M-22-09, and ZTA related CISA and DOD supporting documents applicability to the USINDOPACOM mission

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent years of related experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to Systems Administration/Engineering

  • Experience with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix preferred)

  • Experience with Zero Trust Architecture Design and Implementation

  • MCP or Linux/Red Hat Certification

  • An IAT Level II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) or higher is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology or related discipline

  • Familiarity with Forcepoint TTC

  • Infrastructure as Code/DevOps Experience

  • Cloud infrastructure experience with zero trust models
