SOSi is actively seeking a Site Operations Supervisor to support our customer’s mission and provide overall management for the provision of care and services at Overflow Emergency Overnight Shelter site(s) in Massachusetts.

Essential Job Duties

  • Support the Site Operations Manager and Program Director to stand up, operate, and provide services at the site(s), including managing and communicating with vendors performing construction, janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, food service, transportation, and security services.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations at the site(s), directly supervising operational and administrative staff in partnership with the Site Operations Manager and Program Director.

  • Work independently; prioritize tasks, as well as, collaborate with managers and staff within and with other departments.

  • Ensure a safe and sanitary area for guests and personnel to eat meals.

  • Ensure the overall safety and security of the guests/participants, employees, and volunteers.

  • Assess issues related to building operations and communicate with facilities staff and vendors to address facility-related issues in a timely fashion.

  • Support an environment of collaboration, communication and teamwork between operations and services staff.

  • De-escalate crises and support staff in de-briefing difficult situations. Respond to emergencies as needed.

  • In partnership with the Operations Manager, assist with developing and implementing the identification and process to ensure facilities are maintained and issues are resolved promptly.

  • Supervise and guide administrative staff, food services personnel, and other operational staff and vendors supporting the site(s).

  • Ensure personnel issues are addressed timely and in collaboration with the Project Management Office and other requisite staff.

  • Establish and ensure that monitoring of recordkeeping is occurring within the program. Ensure guest information is kept private in accordance with customer policies, procedures, and practices, and as required by law.

  • Support the preparation of regular reports in a form and format specified by the customer to ensure programs are meeting goals and objectives. Ensure that files are up to date and in compliance with all State and federal contracts.

  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office team to ensure systems are in place for quality assurance.

  • Maintain knowledge about area vendors and facilities.

  • Ensure adequate site inventory of necessary supplies and resources for guests and staff and maintain inventory records.

  • Works closely with Community Resource Coordinator and help foster relationships with volunteer groups and community organizations.

  • Assist with the development of systems, processes and tools to enhance program performance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social service, education, psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science.

  • Must have at least two (2) years of progressive employment experience with a social services agency or organization, or two years of operations management experience.

  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check and a background check, after accepting a conditional offer of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and/or training in Massachusetts-operated shelters is preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with immigrant populations is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and remain emotionally controlled.

  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to work flexible hours. We operate 24/7/365. Inside and outside, all weather conditions.

  • Travel throughout the U.S. as needed.
