STG, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SOS International LLC (SOSi), is seeking an IT Security Enginee r to support our client in Arlington, Virginia. The ideal candidate will possess experience in Software Development.

Program Description

SOSi has an opportunity for an IT Security Engineer located in Arlington, Virginia. This position will support the U.S. Department of State, providing comprehensive innovative software development services.

The selected individual will be an active member of a mature Agile development team utilizing SAFe methodologies to develop, edit and refine documentation as part of the software development lifecycle process. Collaborating closely with the development and operations teams and customer stakeholders to bring together the full range of technical and business competencies needed to enable successful achievement of customer service deliverables and SLAs, technology transformation, business requirements and other work deliverables which are consistent with organizational goals and objectives. The candidate will work in a collaborative manner with the operations and architecture teams to propose, brainstorm, represent, and implement simple to complex architectural solutions.

Position Description:

  • Work as a key member of a software development program, recommending architecture (software and hardware) changes and enhancements to provide system security.
  • Work with the ISSO team on annual accreditation documents, scans, and demos.
  • Work with independent penetration testing teams to define testing requirements, environments, and recommend overall changes to remediate any findings.
  • Serve as a member of an Agile Development team utilizing SAFe methodologies.
  • Develop and carry out information security plans and policies
  • Serve as a key participant in annual contingency tests, writing test plans, and test cases to increase the system security posture.
  • Develop strategies to respond to and recover from a security breach
  • Develop or implement open-source/third-party tools to assist in detection, prevention and analysis of security threats
  • Implement protections
  • Conduct penetration testing, simulating an attack on the system to find exploitable weaknesses
  • Investigate security breaches
  • Lead incident response, including steps to minimize the impact and then conducting a technical and forensic investigation into how the breach happened and the extent of the damage

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required. In addition, selected candidate must be able to maintain the clearance for continued employment.
  • A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • One to three years of industry experience in an information security function.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)
  • Experience with data encryption for data at rest and date in transit.
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems and Red Hat Linux

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these preferred skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs experience desired.
  • Oracle 12c
  • C# and .net Development
  • CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
